Branch Manager

Location: Rogers, AR

Summary:

The Branch Manager is responsible for the administration and efficient daily operation of a branch office, including operations, product sales, customer service, and security and safety in accordance with the Bank's objectives. Develops new deposit business; provides a superior level of customer relations and promotes the sales and service culture through coaching, guidance and staff motivation; achieves individual and branch sales goals through new business sales, referrals and retention of account relationships. Provides leadership, training and supervision; delegates day to day operations to the Assistant Branch Manager, Head Teller, or other branch personnel. Responsible proper adherence to regulatory and legal guidelines appropriate within the banking industry. Participates in community affairs to increase the Bank's visibility and to enhance new and existing business opportunities. May perform duties in the absence of the Assistant Branch Manager or Head Teller or other such management capacities as directed by the Retail Banking Manager.

Position Functions:

  • Responsible for creating and maintainng the profitable performance of a retail branch.  
  • Responsible for maintaining a confidential environment, to protect customers and associates.
  • Directs and oversees customer transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and cash checks; sell money orders, Cashiers checks, Travelers Cheques; and provide cash advances and other services as required by customers.
  • Directs and oversees opening and closing of bank process according to internal policies and procedures and external compliance regulations.
  • Schedules work days, monthly teller duties, and teller training.
  • Trains or oversees training of new staff and assures policies, procedures and compliance issues are covered and adhered to in all areas.
  • Responds to after hours ATM malfunction calls as necessary as well as other emergency calls regarding the branch.
  • Performs new account and teller duties as needed. 
  • Sets and monitors sales goals for Retail staff. 
  • Works closely with Retail staff on a daily/weekly/monthly basis to insure sales goals are met.
  • Hires, coaches, counsels/reprimands, and terminates staff according to organization policies and procedures and in compliance with proper legal/government guidelines.
  • Provides staff development and training on areas necessary for the performance of required job duties and individual staff development.
  • Conducts staff performance and salary reviews on a timely basis and in accordance with organization policies and procedures.
  • Follows and promotes organization’s customer service standards at all times.
  • Adheres to all compliance regulations, requirements and organization’s policies and procedures in the performance of job duties.
  • Promotes and refers United Bank products when possible.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:

  • High level knowledge of position duties required.
  • Ability to work effectively under a high level of independent decision making.
  • High Level Computer Skills (3-5 years MS Word, email, internet, MS Outlook, Excel and other programs/systems that may be relative to the position.
  • Ability to work effectively under a low level of supervision.
  • Performs duties primarily directing the work or others.
  • Highly complex position containing duties involving a high level of independent decision making with minor instructions from manager and directs special projects and/or assignments.
  • High level of creativity exists in establishing public programs and procedures for department in dealing with external clients and/or internal policies for the organization.
  • Moderate level of analytical skills required to determine correct solutions to non-routine problems and in order to accurately direct co-workers in the proper procedures to solve problems occurring in everyday situations.  Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

Education:

    High school diploma or equivalent plus some university/technical school 

Experience

    4 years experience in banking with 2 years in management.
